Sorry for the lack of update

I am so sorry for the lack of updates. As you may all know...our beautiful Lola has left our world on March 20th. She was sick for a few weeks and we spent all the time we could with her...even on her last hour with us.

Savannah has been an amazing daugther. She makes me smile and get through these tough times. Neal has been an unbelievable husband! I have such a great support system from our families!

But in the meantime...the weekly updates will have to wait. It brings me sadness that I couldn't even get myself to take pictures the last 2 weeks. Thank goodness Neal has been taking some videos and photos here and there so we wouldn't completely miss Savannah's last 2 weeks.

Lola is being buried tonight...tomorrow will feel different. Tomorrow we all have to figure out how to move on and live without her. Lola loved taking pictures...I just have to realize that she won't be in them anymore...

Except for this last one she got in before taking off on a plane on Tuesday at 10:35 pm.
It was so weird cause Neal and I were looking out the bathroom window and were talking about how she was about to take off. We decided it would be nice to remember this night and got chills when this showed up instead. Love that she's so excited to go home but found time to say bye to us...

Happy 8 Months Savannah!!!!!!!!

Dear Savannah,

We would have to say that this month it seems like you've grown so much!
This month:
  • You got crawling down to a system...at first you spun in a circle, then you used your upper body and flipping to get to where you wanted to go and finally started to use your legs to push you along
  • You were obsessed making the 'stinky' face to people and you loved getting their laughing reaction
  • You celebrated your first Valentine's day...you were a pretty pink dress and had a nice dinner with Mommy and Daddy
  • You discovered that you could use the crib to your advantage and use it as leverage
  • You then realized that you could go on your knees and use the crib for balance
  • You learned how to shake your head "no"...you looooove doing it right before you eat...you say no to the first spoonful but after tasting it you can longer resist!
  • You said goodbye to your first car, the Benz and baptized the new car by pooping the first minute you got in it
  • You had your first asparagus and apricot
  • You went into your first moonbounce
  • You hit your first pinata
  • Your hair is so long that Mommy can put it in a pony tail
  • You quickly learned in a day how to sit up on your own...there's no stopping you now!
  • You love pretending that you can walk!
  • You sat in your first cart
  • You used your first walker
  • You sat in your first highchair at a restaurant
  • You are liking the sippy cup but still think its a toy sometimes
You now know when Daddy has come home...you see Socks get excited and hear his keys and the door open and you immediately get excited...then quickly cry when he doesn't get to you fast enough. You have grown to love eating with him...you enjoy that he gets to feed you every night after work. You love to snuggle up next to him at night....you turn on your side and put one arm on his and nuzzle your head into his armpit. You absolutely love it that Daddy takes you outside with him when he takes Socks to go potty everyday...you love being outside with him!

Mommy has had a tough month....she came down with a cold that turned into bronchitis. There has also been a lot going on with the family...with her grandpa passing away and Lola being always sick...mommy has been under a lot of stress. But she tries really hard to put a smile on her face and manages to play peek-a-boo with you. You have really helped Mommy through these hard times by smiling ear to ear and reminding her that there are still a lot of good things going on while there are a lot of unfortunate things around us. You know when Mommy is sad or isn't feeling well and know just the right thing to do, whether it be you staying calm so Mommy can go through what she's going through, smile at her, put a hand on her face, or give sloppy wet kisses on her face. You are the best distraction ever through these tough times and she is just glad that you are just an inch away when she needs a good hug.

Socks has got you really laughing! She doesn't mind that you pull on her tail or feet and it drives you into a roar of laughter! While you are eating in your highchair she loves to be right below in case you spit out a few goodies...except she knows to stand clear when you have a toy or a sippy cup! She either goes downstairs or in the bedroom cause she knows you'll be throwing that thing like a frisbee. You're always looking down to make sure she's around...you talk to her like she can understand you (you guys probably have your own language!) Socks still loves to take naps with you...she usually curls up at the end of your feet...and she doesn't mind it when you try to kick her!

People are still calling you a doll! But I would have to say the most comments we've gotten this month is how you're such a happy baby! Everyone loves your smile and you absolutely LOVE the attention you get. We also get comments on how you really make good eye contact and babble to them as if you're having a conversation. People say you look like Mommy but when Mommy and Daddy are together they say you are a good mix of us! :)

It is insane how much you have developed this month. It seems like in one day you learn a new thing (sitting up on your own, crawling, climbing...etc) You are in fact a very happy baby and we absolutely LOVE it! You are indeed a social butterfly and is interested in everything and everyone around you! We are interested in this new stage of mobility you have discovered...it's time to put away anything and everything!

Love,
Mommy & Daddy

Savannah's 34 weeks

Her hair is long enough to put in a pony tail...she LOVES being a girl!

Rockin' the new hair-do during playtime!

Sadly, Lola went back into the hospital and it has just been a rollercoaster ride. We are hoping for a full and safe recovery. What's even more sad is that after visiting her I came down with a cold and bronchitis which was horrible cause I couldn't even visit. It was hard enough trying to visit with the little one but I couldn't even help Lola at all...the best I could do was recover and not get her sick!

She also had to spend her 87th birthday in the hospital...I'm just so happy that Maggie has been able to go and spend time with her. It has allowed us to Skype and video conference with Lola. So glad Lola turned 87 with Maggie by her side :)

She is such a strong fighter! Giving us one of her famous smiles on her birthday!
We love you Lola!

So sorry for the lack of pictures and late post...with Lola being in the hospital and me being sick...my capturing moments was not up to par!
