Savannah's 2 Weeks

cute little clip of Savannah falling asleep and giving us a smile with a giggle at the end :)

Earlier this week, Uncle Jimmy came to visit...

And so did Uncle Jason...who bought her her first pair of Vans!

Auntie Lalaine also came by and brought her all these cute outfits!

Uncle Ali hung out with us and brought over some pizza!

Here's my whole life on one couch :)
Auntie Paula came by a few times this week to watch and play with Savannah and brought over treats!

There seems to be a trend here!

On Saturday, we finally made it all out for our first walk!

So nice to be out!

On Sunday, we also made our first family outing besides going to the doctors.

We went to Grandpa and Grandma's house so Savannah could meet Great-Grandma Emery and have dinner!

Soon, Savannah will be part of their gang...

Great-Grandma Emery meeting Savannah for the first time...and Socks making sure everything is going alright.

She gave Savannah a really awesome present!

She gave her Great-Great-Grandpa Emery's baby silver fork with an engraving of an "E" from 1890! Savannah already has a good grip on the fork!

She was so relaxed....arms behind her and and feet crossed :)

Socks always by her feet :)

Too bad this picture came out blurry...would have been nice to frame! But still a very nice picture of all the ladies :)

Our little burrito :)

UPDATES:
We have been very fortunate to all the people who have visited us...all their gifts, food and company are greatly appreciated! We are still surviving because of our parents! They have taken turns coming over...cooking, shopping and taking care of us.

I have had a rough recovery and was out of service for a few days! I came down with mastitis and clogged ducts in both breasts! It was the worst feeling ever! My highest fever was 104 accompanied with chills. I was pretty much useless for at least 2 days and Neal became "Mommy". We went to the doctors and I swear it was worst than labor and delivery. The nurse had to literally dig into my breast tissue...it felt like elbow deep!!! She said she couldn't believe I had been walking around the last few days thinking it was 'normal'. Though it was painful I still joked around asking for an epidural :) I felt 10000000 times better walking out of there! And now we are successfully breastfeeding and pumping for little Savannah! I'm still on antibiotics and still get random chills and fevers but at least I'm able to function!

Neal has been AMAZING! My favorite thing I heard him say was "I know it's only been a few days Savannah...but I already can't imagine my life without you". He loves to hold her, change and feed her. They love to watch golf and motocross together...though she always falls asleep during golf. On Sunday he even let me get a mani and pedi spa to relax a little. We are so lucky!

Though this week started off on the wrong foot with me being out of service...we ended the week with great improvement...we went for our first walk, first family outing and most of all has gotten Savannah only to wake up once during the night.

Can't wait what next week will bring us!!! :)

Savannah's First Week

We finally got to take our little girl home on Wednesday, July 13 around 1:30pm.
We were so happy to have her home even though she had to still be on the light for her jaundice.

Socks and her first meeting went okay. I think it was a little too much for Socks...not seeing us for 3 days and coming home to a glowing baby. After an hour of peeking and sniffing...she has grown to love her! She follows wherever Savannah goes...and she gets up with us at every feeding in the middle of the night! She's very gentle with her and loves sniffing her toes :)

On Friday, we had a follow up with her jaundice.

She did so well! When we left the hospital she was at 7 lbs 11 oz and when they reweighed her she was at 7 lbs 14 oz.

She sensed a blood draw coming...

Poor baby's foot! Her foot bled all the way home!!!
We later got a call that afternoon that her levels were still high and needed to still be on the light til Monday :(
It's been really hard cause we've all had to camp out in front of her crib...since we can't hold her :(
There was a day she was really fussy...but I think she just missed bonding time. It broke our little hearts but glad that she was getting the treatment she needed.

Later that night we gave her first bath :)
Here she is wondering what beautiful baby she sees in the mirror :)

At first she didn't like it...

But loved it when Daddy shampooed her hair...

And then she was mad that it was all over...
Overall, it was a successful first bath!!!

We then soon discovered that on day 5 that she could turn to her side! This completely shocked me...I've never heard of a baby being able to do that! Every time we put her on her back she would swing her arms and legs and lay comfortably on her left side!

On day 6...we discovered that not only could she turn on her side but she could rotate herself around her crib! We're wondering if she's going to be a gymnist!!!

Everyday since we've been home our parents have taken turns coming over and helping out. Wow, I don't know what we would do without them! They have helped us survive this first week by doing laundry, cleaning, cooking and grocery shopping...and best of all letting us take a nap! We are so thankful to all of her grandparents and it has been one amazing week to experience with our newborn and her grandparents :)

Our fridge has never been so well nourished!

Her closet finally organized!

Great-Lola :)

I also had some cousins for Qatar visit...and unfortunately they couldn't hold her cause she was on her light blanket...so we improvised and had them take a picture with her on the monitor! hahahaha

My favorite moment is when she's trying to fall asleep and breaks out into smiles and laughter...I totally wonder what she's thinking about!

We had our follow up on Monday...it's amazing...she now weighs 8 lbs 7 oz!!!

I liked their ghetto foot warmer to draw blood from her!
We got a late call in the evening that she was finally okay to be taken off the blanket! It was the best news! Life has been so much easier that she can be mobile around all parts of the house and not have to be confined in her crib!

So we hung out downstairs and had our first craft session :)
It was impossible trying to get her prints...it took Neal and I a good half hour to even get decent ones! We were laughing hysterically and Savannah was messing with us the whole time!

We treated her to a nice warm bath which she now loves!
AND! She finally can start wearing clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unsure about the mohawk daddy gave her...

-Socks' barking doesn't phase you...I guess you already knew her voice from my tummy
-Daddy is truly in love with you and you guys go on walks around the house...even hung out on the porch a couple of times to get fresh air
-Mommy always laugh when you're in Daddy's arm because you guys have the same exact headshape and head of hair
-Mommy is still trying to wrap the idea around her head that you actually came out of her
