37 Weeks & Drs Appt

Gender: Head Down Girl!

Movement: Her movements have definitely 'slowed' down..I think cause she has no more room in there! I still feel her give me jabs and kicks but no more acrobats in there!

Sleep: Sleep has been good...still setting up my pillow forts! It's been super hot at night so we have a fan right on me throughout the night...which Socks loves to curl up next to me to steal some air time :)

What I miss: Be able to sit however I want.

Cravings: watermelon and desserts!

Symptoms: Notice that sometimes at the end of the day my ankles get a little swollen. Dedicated husband elevates, massages and ice them down! Lower back pains have come back slighty and same pelvic pressure feeling, Braxton Hicks: tightening of the stomach and upper abdominal cramping.

Current Mood:  Excited that she is considered Full Term! We're just ready for her to be here!

Random Updates:
We have finally washed all her newborn-3 months clothes! Her closet is still slowly coming together...I think everyone is surprised that I haven't finished her closet but I feel like I need to save something to do while I'm sitting at home waiting for her to arrive!

Tomorrow is my last day at work! I'm not really sure what I'm going to do at home...I guess it's a waiting game!

Savannah brought Donuts to Daddy's office on Monday to say thanks for the wonderful Baby Shower they threw us :)

Savannah also got more presents from Daddy's coworker...The catelpillar book is Mommy's favorite!

On Tuesday we had another appointment and ultrasound. Our ultrasound was first and we were both soooo excited to see her again! The tech measured her head and tummy...and her first comment was that she had a huge belly :) She also said that she was still a girl and that she has long legs! (That's obviously from the Emery side!) Her heart beat was in the high 140-150s and the guestimated weight is 7 lbs 5 oz!!!
The picture above is a side profile...supposidly she has my "slide" nose and has lots of hair!

This ultrasound picture shows how BIG her cheeks are! They're wider than her head!!! It looks like she's giving us a kiss too...but she's probably really sticking her tongue out at us!

The wait was RIDICULOUS for the second part of our appointment! Our appointment was at 10:45 and I didn't get out of there til 12:30!!! They made me wait in the room on that uncomfortable chair/bed for 30 mins! I even got up and started getting dressed again thinking they forgot about me...but the doctor finally came in. My test came back Negative for the Group B test...which is awesome! She did an exam and confirmed that she was definitely engaging and could feel her head. AND I'm 1 cm dialated!!! I know I can stay like that for awhile but I'm glad to know that my body knows what to do!

As you can see I'm starting to run out of room in the car! I can't move any further back (my short little legs can't reach the pedals!) :(

Baby Saver Class & Christine's Baby Shower

On Saturday morning we had our Baby Saver Class at Hoag. We were in a different classroom with about 30 couples this time!

Here we are patiently waiting for class to start :)

Look at all those babies!!!

First half of the class was going through a power point and I would have to say that I feel like I got more out of this class than the Super Saturday Childbirth. The nurse went over very good information and things we need to prepare for that we haven't even thought about. The first half of the class we went over cuts, burns, fevers, carseats, bath time, etc...

During break we were told to pick a baby...and here we are with Baby Jane :)

Here's Neal helping Baby Jane study all the notes we just took :)

Neal got carried away with playing with Baby Jane and wanted to see how far her head would go in. I felt really bad cause I felt like were the kids in school who would makes jokes and giggle while the teacher was teaching and would distract the whole class :D

But Neal made up for it and made Baby Jane feel better by dancing with her...
We then got to learn Infant/Child CPR and Infant/Child Heimlich and though I hope we never have to use it...I'm really glad we got to learn it!

Here was our little fam bam for the day! (With Baby Jane's head fully intact)

After class we rushed over to my bestfriend's baby shower in Lake Forest.

Christine cutting her delicious ice cream cake! We all fought over the chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate cake...the Daddys got stuck with vanilla ice cream and chocolate cake :)

Baby Logan (23 weeks) and Baby Savannah (36 weeks)

Baby Logan and Baby Savannah's first smooch :)

So amazing that we get to experience this journey together. We have been friends since 14 years old and we can't wait for our kids to be good old friends!!!

Here is one of the presents Savannah gave to Logan. It's a handpainted wall decorative (elephant theme) for his room :) hope baby logan likes it!

36 Weeks, Childbirth Class, Father's Day, Hospital Bag, & Dr's Appointment

Gender: Girl who likes to sit on my bladder

Movement: She's moving like crazy as always...I'm going to miss that feeling! I don't get as much of that "rolling-wave" movements...more like she's stretching and trying to sock me or readjust and find her place in my tummy.

Sleep: I've graduated from having a pregnancy pillow to having my pregnancy pillow + throw pillows + bed pillows. I've been sleeping more on my side and my belly weight is overtaking that it strains my back and had to put an additional pillow under my belly so I don't feel like I'm sinking into the bed! I now get up at least 2 times during the night to go on a potty break and usually ends up with me having to wake Neal up to help me roll and climb out of my pillow fort!

What I miss: Sleeping in a curled position

Cravings: nothing special this week! unless you count my love for watermelon...but it's always been a favorite of mine!

Symptoms: Same pelvic pressure feeling, Braxton Hicks: tightening of the stomach and upper abdominal cramping. I'm starting to feel more "menstral-like cramping". I was doing real well on not having to go potty all the time but now I could go within 20 mins of each other! She's playing on top of my bladder so it almost hurts when I'm even trying to just walk over to the bathroom! I'm slowly transitioning into the uncomfortable phase...but I still love being pregnant!

Current Mood:  I'm uncomfortable but still can't complain that much! I'm getting really excited of the thought of her being here but scared about labor.

Random Updates:  On Saturday we had our Super Saturday Childbirth class at Hoag. 9-4!!!
The class had about 15 couples with all first time parents.

We got these interesting name tags that looked like a target...only to find out that this what 10cm look like! YIKES!!! They also had our due dates on the tags...and we were the first ones due!!! Double YIKES!!!

The room was huge...pretty amazing to be in a room full of pregnant women.

Here's Neal playing with the fake pelvic bone and baby during break!
They served us lunch (pizza and salad) and it was great talking to other couples who were on the same boat as us!

Here's my face reacting to the Nurse telling us what we were to expect during labor...

And here's Neal's reaction to something the Nurse said that sounded worse!

I'm supposed to be practicing my "Hee..Hee..Hee...Hoo" but Neal kept distracting me with his silly jokes and imitations...=)

The class was overall really informative but towards the end of the day (after pizza) everyone looked like they needed a nap! Luckily the Nurse let us out early!
We headed over to my cousins house cause she had a huge donation for Savannah from Madelynn. We were greeted with 3 HUGE boxes of clothes and equipment. I was in heaven!!!

This was how we celebrated Father's Day! DELICIOUS! Neal and his Daddy got to go golfing twice!!!

Socks has learned a very bad habit...but it's just so cute that we let her do it. She has learned how to jump the high dinining room chair and plop herself in between the human eaters! She's SOOO CUTE!

HOSPITAL BAG
We finally packed our hospital bag..well back pack! We've always been really good packers...but wow...we fit both of our stuff in a little backpack!..including snacks! I actually think I may even have overpacked...considering I will be in one of those lovely gowns majority of the time. We were so proud of ourselves until we realized we didn't bring anything for the sweet little girl we are bringing home! I know it's just a blanket, a coming home outfit and diapers but wow!...I laughed hysterically that we forgot to bring her things...I guess we'll give ourselves a pass on this one since she's not here yet!

36 WEEK APPOINTMENT
This morning we had our first weekly appointment til she's born...it was also our first appointment with the Nurse Practioner instead of our Doctor. She was very nice and comforting...I guess it helped cause she told me she would be doing a vaginal check as well! First she did a swab test for the Group B Streptococcus Bacteria...she said 1 in 4 women get it (hopefully I'm not one of them)! This test is usually done between weeks 35-37 and if you are positive they just give you antibiotics during labor.

She also checked Savannah's position and she's totally head down...she's so head down that she said she could feel the top of her head!!! She's starting to really come down and engage in my pelvic bones...CRAZY!!! She also checked her heart beat and it was at a healthy 158-160s...and she said I am now measuring "Full Term". That freaked me out cause I thought she was telling me that I was measuring at 40 weeks when I'm only 36!!! I later found out that 37 weeks is considered full term! Silly me! Our next appointment is next Tuesday with the Doctor and we also have an ultrasound to guesstimate her size! So excited to see her!!!
