7 Week Ultrasound

We had our second ultrasound today and we saw Baby's heartbeat!
We were both a nervous wreck...well it was more like Neal was nervous and I was the wreck.
The Christmas music in the background was making me laugh but a good distraction cause I was so nervous but the corky intstrumental upbeat music did the trick!
He measured the baby and it's where it needs to be.
Our favorite part was when we saw the Baby's heartbeat flutter like crazy across the tv screen.
The heartbeat was at 140.
Here's the myth to the heartbeat:
There's a belief that has been around for some time, and even had some acceptance in the medical community at one point, is that the fetal heartbeat differs for boys and girls. If you're having a girl, then the fetal heart rate will be above 140. A boy will have a heart rate below 140.
So we're right on 140...what does that mean? =D This baby's already a jokster!
We get to see Baby again on Dec. 9th! The doctor mentioned something about some screening tests and moving on to an OB/GYN but I was literally in LaLa Land staring at the heartbeat so I'm not really sure what he said! Enjoy the pics and video of Baby!!!

Overall, I'm feeling great. I haven't experienced morning sickness at all! Woo hoo! But I still go to sleep at 8:30...9:00 at the latest! I can't stand sweet things but am loving fruits and milk! My sense of smell has heightened and I can sense something sweet 20 feet away! (Get it away!)
Neal has been amazing. Always making sure I get all my vitamins in, making sure I'm warm at night, always putting my mind at ease, has been helping out tremendously at home, giving me footrubs, has attended every single appointment we've had and treating me like a queen. Socks has been such a good sweet dog that we got the urge to let her be a "Big Girl" and stopped locking her up in the downstairs laundry room. I think she naps, sits on the couch and watch people go by and play with all her toys (literally all her toys)...I come home and all the toys are lined up in the living room...it's been 4 days so far and she's doing great! She probably thinks we're so stupid for forgetting to lock her up! Our family has been amazing and are super excited for us...we couldn't ask for a better support system. Everyone loves the Baby already and it's not even here yet =D

Your Pregnancy: Week 7

Gotta pee...again? There's a triple whammy at work here. HCG (pregnancy hormone) increases blood (and urine) flow, your more-efficient kidneys rid waste quicker since you're now peeing for two, and that growing uterus is pressed right down on your bladder.

Baby's now the size of a blueberry!
Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about one hundred new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.

Your Baby's Growth and Development
At 7 weeks pregnant, facial features become more prominent in your baby. Upon close investigation, you may be able to discern a mouth and even a tongue (you actually can't see the tongue, but it is forming inside your baby!). During pregnancy week 7, your baby's eyes will also start to become more fully formed, and the eyes now have a retina and lens attached. The major muscle systems in your baby's body also continue to develop during pregnancy week 7, and your baby begins to produce his own blood. Your baby's movements will be uncoordinated at best at this point during pregnancy, but rest assured your little one is squirming about his new home.
If you were to look directly at your baby, you would still be able to see slight webbing in the fingers and toes. Teeth are also starting to form on the inside of your baby's mouth, and thin veins start to peer out from beneath your baby's skin. Your baby's intestines and appendix should be formed by now. By 7 weeks pregnan, your baby's liver is working diligently to start producing red blood cells. Your baby should be bouncing right along in his comfy and warm home!
