28 Weeks

Gender: Dancing Girl!

Movement: I would have to say this week has been the most movement we've felt! I'm really feeling the movements now and she's giving me good punches! Our favorite time is when Daddy gets to join the action and he gets to feel how strong she's getting. Last night we felt our first official "stretch" across my belly...it was perfect timing cause Daddy's hand was in the perfect spot! She has also gotten our dancing moves...cause she loves to move when I have the music on going to work!

Sleep: It's getting hot and uncomfortable! Switching positions during the night isn't an unconcious involuntary movement anymore...it takes strategic re-positioning, realigning pillows, making sure Socks hasn't fallen off the bed and making sure the fan is directly hitting me!

What I miss: sleeping on my tummy!

Cravings: I'm all about desserts this week! I will carefully watch what I eat for dinner just so I could sneak in a dessert.

Symptoms: Sciatica is gone this week but pelvic pressure/pain is still an issue. Even getting dressed hurts! We went to Baby's R Us and Target to invest in a belly band/belt but they were all uncomfortable, hot and didn't do a thing! It seemed to be more of a hassle to wear this thing...we looked pretty silly in the middle of the aisles Neal trying to figure out how to put me in these things.

I guess I was expecting a miracle out of these things and to feel an immediate relief...but they were just irritating! It's just another thing to think about and adjust in this already cramped body and weather! I think we need to do a little more research!

Current Mood:  I have two things to complain about...and usually I don't like being negative but it seems to be a reoccuring topic.

The first one is when people find out we have a dog and feel the need to tell us that we will be ignoring her when the baby gets here or altogether forget about her and to really watch out for Socks cause she might attack or eat the crap out of the baby! I guess it really hurts for me to hear that because I understand that all of our attention would obviously be lessened towards her but to make such a bold statement hurts my feelings as if she's no longer important. People don't know that when I'm happy, sad, or hurt she's always there for me! Even when I stub my toe she will run up and give me a hug and give me kisses. She really has become part of our family and gives us lots of joy and memories...people need to stop saying that we will ignore her cause that's just a judement of how our actions will be. The comment about her attacking the baby is a good concern...but at the same time it's attacking our lack of judgement and how to parent. It is up to us how to train the dog and teach the baby how to be around one another. The biggest thing is food since I like to feed her off the table and she will have to learn that she has her own food and Savannah has her own. But Socks ATTACKING the baby??? she's scared of her own shadow!!!

I've also gotten irritated by people who tell me what I shouldn't be eating...especially when I'm mid-air into eating it! Especially with having gestational diabetes I don't think I've ever been more aware of what to eat and not to eat. But there are days when you just want to enjoy something and so I will give "this" up to have "that" for the day. It's funny cause I always here one person say "This is the time you can enjoy anything and anytime...eat whatever you want!"...and then there are people who make a comment about ONE little dark chocolate candy! I never mind peoples opinion or thoughts...cause I ask people all the time what they think and value what they say! Anyways, enough with all the negativity!!! I think that's pretty good for 28 weeks being pregnant and it being my first official ranting!

On a brighter note...everyone is very excited about the shower and it makes me so happy! I love how everyone loves her already! I was also very estatic when Lola helped out for a bit for Savannah's baby shower. She hasn't been feeling well and it was obvious she felt good about herself that she was able to make things with me...it's the little things in life that make people happy :)

Random Updates: Neal has made project manager! And I couldn't be more proud of him. It's been his long term goal in his career...though it's only on one proejct it's a start! Go DADDY!

Socks has been amazing! She's still sweet as ever! She has also experienced Savannah's movement...she was laying on my stomach the other day and all of a sudden my stomach and Socks jerked...she kept looking back as if I kicked her!

We really need to start clearing things out again and move some furniture around...but again, this heat just makes you want to sit in front of a fan, watch basketball games with a smoothie in your hand!

Easter & Crafts Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend of family and food!
I apologize in advance I was a real bad photographer this weekend!
We had Saturday night Easter Dinner at the Emerys!

And of course the little girl was there to pick up the goodies off the floor....I felt really bad...I accidentally stepped on her little paw and she cried out :(......such a horrible feeling! But I made it up by giving her steak and chicken...she quickly forgot about it!
Delicious Chicken, steak, shrimp kabobs, rice pilaf and veggies!!! (and me and my A1 sauce...i was never a big fan of it before but it just sounds so good right now!)

I was also in craft-mode and finally made the banner that will go over the dessert table for the shower...

I think it came out pretty cute! "Sweet Savannah"

Excuse the bed-hair...but Socks woke us up at 5 in the morning cause she was so excited to see Grandpa...and so here I am doing more crafts at 5:30 in the morning!!! We thought the first sign came out so cute that we would make one for each food table. We came up with the "Sweet Savannah" for the desserts..."Savannah Snacks" for the candy table and the buffet table we are still brainstorming.
We came up with some good contenders though:
Savannah Savory(ies)
Savannah's Stuffings
Savannah Specials
Sizzlin' Savannah

This name banner is so far my favorite...I think it's the attenas that make it cute!
We headed to Lola's house for Easter lunch...as you can see Lola's very "puffy and swollen" :(
She hasn't been feeling too well and is retaining too much fluid...she has an appt today to check her stomach fluids...hopefully everything turns out well.

Of course Socks had to have her Easter outfit on!

I started crafting again and Lola came out to watch and she started to help. She really enjoyed feeling like she helped and was so detail oriented! I had an attena missing on the letter "H" and she was the only one to notice that it was missing one...I think that's where I get my 'Martha Stewart-ness' from! She was the one who taught me at 3 years old about the color wheel and how to color!!! I'm glad she enjoyed watching and help make Savannah's banner...we really had a blast together! I wish I could stay all day with her and do arts & crafts and story-tell all day and night!

Later in the afternoon we visited Nanay's grave and the kids went egg hunting...

Our traditional cousin picture...

I pretty much got lazy taking pictures after this...I was exhausted!!! We went back to my aunt's house and had some snacks...and then we went back to Lola's house to eat dinner and pick up the little girl. Our adventure still wasn't over! We headed over to my parents house so Socks and Siopao could get a little lovin' time and watch the first half of the Laker game.
It was a FULL weekend and Socks and I were KNOCKED out by the end of the Laker game!

27 Weeks & Dr's Appt

Gender: Playful Girl!

Movement: We felt her first hiccups together! It was a pretty amazing feeling and experience. At first we thought she was just moving a lot but noticed that it was a consistant rhythmic motion that lasted for at least 2-3 minutes :). We have officially gone into no stretch-mark mode and Neal lotions the belly up every night. What's even more amazing is that Savannah tries to follow Neal's hand movement!!! LOVE IT!

Sleep: AMAZING! With the nightly belly massage/rub it knocks me right out and makes me sleep throughout the night :)

What I miss: Putting socks on without having to sit down or have Neal's assistance....bending over to pick something up isn't what it used to be either!

Cravings: Nothing really this week...just been really thirsty!

Symptoms: Sciatica is back! This time it starts near my left rear and shoots down to my knee. Stretching sometimes help but it's painful!

Current Mood:  Relieved that all the invites are out. Excited that I started my 10 week countdown for work!

Random Updates:
We had our monthly check up with our doctor. And everything looks great! She loves to be playful cause every time someone tries to listen to her heartbeat she 'swims' away. Her heartbeat was at 150 and she's at the perfect measurement. Oddly I haven't gained any weight...that's still a mystery! I guess with the diet change I've actually lost a few pounds. So we're doing great all around and the doctor said to keep it up! We have moved on from the 4 week check up to 3 weeks. And after the next visit we will be moving onto every 2 weeks til the last month which we'll see her every week.

I never knew dogs could have a 'bad day'. Well, our little Socksy had one and it was so heartbreaking. On Tuesday after we both came home she kept hiding in little corners where we couldn't even see her. She kept looking over towards the kitchen and our bedroom door as if she was seeing a ghost. Her eyes were wide open and would not come out and play. The rest of the night she was huddled in between the couch and Neal...we knew she wasn't sick but could not figure out what was wrong! The next morning she was still the same. We searched the house high and low looking for her and I thought she ran away...Neal found her under the crib curled in a ball. When I got home yesterday she was still 'traumatized'. So I took her all around the house and made her sniff everything and basically we did a spirits-go-a-way-ceremony...and then SHE WAS FINE! We have NO idea what was up with her but I hope she never experiences a day like that again!!!

The wonderful hubby has taken the role of giving me and Savannah belly rubs/massages with this lotion called Tummy Rub ($35!!!!!!!!-it better work!)...So every night after dinner we have a little belly session with Savannah and I think she loves it as well. Where ever Neal hands go...sure enough we'll feel a little jab or kick...it's the most amazing thing! I know she knows it's her daddy cause every time I put my hand on my stomach after I've felt her move she stops!!! It's our favorite time of the day...our whole family including Socks hangs out on one couch and play with Savannah :)

Prepping for our morning belly rubs!!!

He is so silly! :)

This morning we sent out all the invites for Savannah's Baby Shower. It's always sad to part with invites I make :( I spend so much time and love on them!

Bye, bye invites! Hope to see everyone at the party!!!

26 Weeks - Last week of Second Trimester

Gender: Sly Girl

Movement: She makes sweet jabs to my upper ribs and makes funny movements. I call her sly cause every time she moves and either Neal or I puts our hand on my stomach she immediately stops moving!

Sleep: Tried to change sleeping positions thinking that it's why my pelvic and hips hurt...due to the fact that we let Socks sleep in between my legs and I end up sleeping like a frog on its back!

What I miss: Wearing high heels

Cravings: I finally craved for my first chocolate cake with caramel drizzle, nuts and whip cream...never got it but the lovely husband got me a chocolate chip pazookie at BJs!

Symptoms: Back has been great...I think I'll give credit to the new bra. I think I experienced a slight symptom of Braxton Hicks...felt my uterus tighten twice...weird feeling!

Current Mood:  Exhausted from work...have been super busy and I took on a little side job as well! Been feeling like a 'housewife' though...cooking every night!

Random Updates:
We have reached the end of our 2nd trimester...can you believe it?!? only 14 weeks left to go!!! I think it's safe to say that we are still having a pretty easy pregnancy. It was awesome that we got to spend the first trimester with excitement and joy sharing our news with everyone...and it was even better that we got to spend the 2nd trimester by celebrating her gender reveal, naming her and 3D/4D experience with our loved ones. The weeks have gone by fast and can't believe we're entering the last stretch. We can't wait to experience that last trimester...it'll be full of parties, prepping, classes and waiting!

We signed up for our childbirth, cpr/first aid classes. We're pretty much booked every weekend til June! With so many events coming up...she'll be here before we know it!!!

I would have to say my favorite moment this week was when Neal was talking and tapping on my stomach and said "Savannah, it's Daddy calling...Do you accept the charges?" :)

She already knows the sounds of her Daddy and Socks. The other day Neal and Socks were wrestling in bed and Savannah was trying to wrestle out of my stomach!!! I can't wait til all 3 of them get to play together :)

We finally finished all our ladybug invites!

Now the fun part begins with stuffing and addressing these cute little bugs! :)

25 Weeks

Gender: Sweet Girl!

Movement: Much more movement this week...to the point where we see my whole stomach flutter.

Sleep: Good except I get super hot in the middle of the night!

What I miss: Getting off the couch super fast!

Cravings: Filipino spagetti...with hot dogs please!

Symptoms: Still some pressure in the hips and pelvic...back has been doing great though!

Current Mood:  Moving along with the invites and baby shower details. Really trying to narrow down our registry is giving me a little anxiety. Feeling great with a new bra!

Random Updates:
I made my first 'pregnancy' question phone call to our doctors earlier this week about all the pressure I was feeling. I knew it was 'normal' but I just really wanted to make sure it was. They recommended a belly band to alleviate some of the pressure. It has gotten better over the week...I just try to stretch often and not sit for too long.

We also went and got custom fitted for a new bra since my regular ones are now stabbing and sucking the life out of me.

The experience was actually a lot of fun. It's a place in La Mirada called "A Total Woman". Originally I was going to go in and get a nursing bra but was quickly reminded that I will still grow! (yikes!) I was quite overwhelmed when the lady told me my new "Letter" in the bra world....I swear I'll be going into roman numeral numbers and Greek Alphabet by the end of this year! Whatever the letter is...my new bra has done wonders...it's so much more comfortable and I actually think they make my chest look smaller. They have lifted like 3 inches and there is actually a separation between my chest and stomach! It wasn't as pricey as I thought it would be...but we have to go back a month before Savannah's due to get our customized nursing bra. Neal had a blast at the store...talking to all the women there like he knew them!

24 Weeks

Gender: Calm Girl!

Movement: Other than a really good kick earlier in the week that luckily Neal got to witness she has been very mellow this week.

Sleep: Great! Neal was sick earlier in the week and Socks and I had the whole bed to ourselves!

What I miss: real coffee

Cravings: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Strawberries!

Symptoms: Sore in the hips and pelvic bones...I think this baby is taking over!

Current Mood:  Very uncomfortable with the hip and pelvic bone area...hopefully it goes away...am terrified about the heat this summer. There were 2 really hot days this week and it was just uncomfortable!

Random Updates:
Other than pain in my hips and the migraine attack earlier this week I have been super busy at work and super busy at home. We started our manufacturing line-up for the invites and we're almost done!
Neal was super sick earlier this week and came down with some sort of flu. I tried to take care of him as much as possible without trying to get sick at the same time. Wii came out with a new game this week and Savannah, Socks and I thought it would be nice to cheer him up with it!
Shockingly...he "felt much better"...so much better that he felt up to playing the game the first night we brought it home. I joke around that maybe I should've waited to get it for him until he finished helping me with the invites! But he 'logs' in at least an hour a day...right before he plays 2-3 hours of Wii Golf!!!

It's been extremely hot and Socks has found her spot to keep cool. We open the windows and she camps out on the couch trying to catch a breeze. She must be SO hot with all that dog hair! We also have a fan going and we'll find her sometimes sitting perfectly in the line of the blowing fan. I don't know what else we can do to keep her comfortable...but she does love her Ice Cubes every so often!
